Where is the serial number located on my BEDSLIDE?
Your BEDSLIDE serial number is located in 2 different locations. One is on the passenger’s side bottom frame right next to the bearings. The other is located of the backside of the front logo plate next to the latching handle.
Can I fit a sheet of plywood on a BEDSLIDE?
Not only can you, but it’ll be a heck of a lot easier to unload as well. The standard short box and long box inside dimensions are 48” Wide.
Can I order a special size?
You sure can. There are only some limitations, though. Max length is 96” and minimum length is 36”. Max width is 48” and minimum width is 24”. Just give us some extra time and a few extra bucks and we’ll cook you up something custom.
How long does it take to install?
If you have the BEDSLIDE unboxed and a prepared work environment, it takes as little as 1 hour to install. It’s basically as simple as 4 bolts to your truck bed. If you’re not a professional, we recommend that you have one of our B.E.D. locations handle installation. BEDSLIDES are large items to install alone.
How much does the BEDSLIDE weigh?
Weight varies depending on your truck-bed length and BEDSLIDE model. Weights run from 161lbs on a 5839 size up to 387lbs for a Heavy Duty Long Box. For the exact weight you can look up your part number on the products page.
How tall is the BEDSLIDE?
All BEDSLIDES are 4 1/2″ from the top of the deck to the floor of the truck. Our new adjustable height bearing tabs can raise the BEDSLIDE another 1/2″ at the handle end to clear some tailgates.
My BEDSLIDE is in the closed position and I can’t get it to slide out. What can I do?
Check and see if the handle releases freely and does not bind, if so it’s possible that the cable attached to the latching pin has snapped or come un-done. Using a flat blade screwdriver push the latching pin in on both sides and slide the top frame out towards the rear of the truck. Repeat this process until you are able to remove the top frame as per the installation and removal instructions. Replace the latching pin assembly and install the top frame back on the bottom frame.
Does the BEDSLIDE come assembled?
Just about. All BEDSLIDES come with assembled framework and decking. Minor assembly like attaching side rails needs to be done.
How far does it extend?
Every BEDSLIDE has been designed to extend as far as possible without compromising your safety. With each model carrying a differing load capacity (from 800lbs to a TON) and since we offer sizes from 54” to 95” long, the percentage of extension is different on each variation. That said, in most cases the BEDSLIDE extends between 70-80%, some a little more and some a little less. However, in most ‘normal’ scenarios, the ability to access and reach your cargo without crawling into your truck is accomplished (depending on your height, agility, and your trucks suspension)
